Once we finished the family pictures, Ashley and Geoff headed straight for the canoe!     I know I already posted this,  but I LOVE THIS SHOT!!!!  I could never see it enough!     I love this shot as well as this little guy was just watching so intently, I had to blend the two shots together as they happened.  Is he getting a paddling lesson or life lessons???    Another favourite!!!                                                                                       Our surprise Rock Star who very politely agreed to have a shot with the bride and groom! Last but not least, our happy couple, Ashley and Geoff and their beautiful smiles!!!  Thank you Ashley and Geoff for the honour of photographing your wedding! Let the spirit of love warm you up! 

I am finally able to sit down and get back to my blogs where I last left off.  I am starting the year out with Laura and Andre and their very intimate and laughter filled wedding day at the JW Marriott The Rosseau Resort and Spa on Lake Rosseau, Muskoka.    Laura and Andre are a couple that just seem so well suited for each other.  They are kind and gentle and they always, always, always had a smile on their face.  Their wedding was about just being with their friends and family, not about posing for a bunch of pictures.  It was a very candid and relaxed day and what became very obvious to me was the amount of love that they share between each other, also the amount of laughter.  You know what they say, a couple who laughs together, stays together!  Thank you Laura and Andre for a great opportunity to capture a glimpse of your lives together!

Laura’s seamstress in Carleton, ON gave her an instruction sheet for the wedding dress and it was referenced more than once!

Laura wore her Mom’s wedding dress the night before for a welcoming cocktail party for all their guests, I believe it was hemmed.

Laura’s friends came for a sneak before the ceremony, I absolutely love this reaction!

When we were doing the family pictures, this little girl thought she would come in and steal the show, and steal it she did!

Laura’s cousin did the floral arrangements so it was important to her to get a lot of great shots.  I don’t think you can beat  Muskoks sunset.

Of course the night ends with laughter!

Rebecca and Brent are salt of the earth people.  They are the type of people that when they do things they seem to always think of others around them.  That was very evident at their wedding.  There were little touches everywhere that gave the feeling that they wanted everyone to feel included in their big day.  It started with Rebecca wearing her Mom’s wedding dress for the ceremony, altered slightly yet still beautiful, the flowers and boutonniere’s all had wheat from Brent’s family farm, the bride’s bouquet had part of a burlap bag from the family farm, family lace and Brent’s baby booty.  There were small colouring booklets at the church for the kids to keep them entertained during the ceremony and all of their extended family were photographed in large groups at the church with the bride and groom.  It was very obvious that “their” day was also everyone’s day and it was very touching to see that.  Rebecca and Brent are a wonderful, loving, super fun couple!  It was an honour to photograph their day.  I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I do!                                                                                                                                                                                                          Congratulations Rebecca and Brent and Thank You!

Rebecca wore her dress before the ceremony for all the formal shots with the wedding party and the family.

These two shots were taken a few hours apart but I had to put them together, they tell a beautiful story.I love it when all of the shots are taken before the ceremony, the groom gets to see his bride “twice” in one day! It’s just magical!

Peanut butter and jelly, bread and butter….. Caitlin and Derek!  Some things were just meant to go together and Caitlin and Derek are no exception.  Their attitude on life, their ability to smile through anything and their compassion and love towards each other just blows me away.  I was so honoured to photograph their wedding day and to see all of the beautiful details that they included in the day.  They were going for a classic look and they certainly achieved that with all white accents.  It was a fantastic day filled with laughter and love and I certainly look forward to seeing more of this couple in my future.  I hope you enjoy the small photo tour of their day!   All my best to you Caitlin and Derek and Congratulations!
