“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” From the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
That statement could not be any closer to the truth. Life moves unbelievably fast and the older we get, the faster it seems to move. As a photographer I am hired to document other peoples lives and I help to create their memories. I am passionate about what I do and I am forever grateful to my clients who allow me into their lives for even a brief moment of time which gives them a lifetime of reflection.
In my busy life of working with others, I don’t often take enough time to document my own family. I fit well into the classic saying “the shoemakers kids go barefoot”. I have thousands of pictures stored on my computer that sometimes never make it past the first folder. When they are downloaded to my computer I have the best of intentions of organizing them, printing them and sharing them but more often than not they stay in the first folder they landed in and are stumbled upon when I am looking for that “certain picture” I thought I took a year or two ago. I need to stop this vicious cycle. That being said, I want to share with you some of the people in my life that make my heart sing. A Dad’s Day (Father’s Day) celebration is a really good place to start. Hiding behind trees and sometimes in full view, a few shots were taken on Sunday that luckily have made it past the first folder.
