Engagement sessions are a blast! I love them, I love what comes from them and I love seeing how a couple reacts with each other in front of the camera. It can often be a bit daunting standing with the love of your life in front of your photographer whom you have met only a few times, and trying to act relaxed. I always tell my couples that the engagement session gives us time to get to know each other. It gives me a chance to see how you photograph and to see your comfort level in front of the camera and it gives you a chance to see how I photograph and how I move about. They are SO MUCH FUN!
On that lead in, Anna and Drew rocked their engagement session. They were relaxed, easy to work with and most of all, into each other. People who hire me know that my style largely focuses (no pun intended) around the candid expression and capturing “THAT MOMENT” and of course, I always love the odd kiss; I am a sucker for romance. Well, Anna and Drew gave me plenty of moments and I have picked out some of my favourites to show you.
Anna and Drew numbered their tables with a picture of them holding a different number for each table, we shot table 1 through 20! Lucky number seven always wins! After the table numbers we drove into downtown Guelph to old Goldie Mill ruins. After an outfit change, (always a fun idea) we wanted to romanticize the night a little and show a different side of Anna and Drew. I LOVE this series of pictures! And of course a photoshoot by Goldie’s Mill wouldn’t be complete without the graffiti wall by the train tracks! To finish our night we went right downtown Guelph. We had fun playing around, random kisses while people are having dinner and then a rest on the park bench. I asked Anna and Drew to pretend like they just met and what it would like if it was love at first site, I think they nailed it! Thank you Anna and Drew! You are an awesome couple and I can’t wait to blog your wedding pictures from last August! They will be up on the blog soon!
