I first met Matt and Rachel last summer when I photographed their engagement shoot. There was proof all over their wedding site of the fun that we had on their shoot and it continued into their wedding day. One thing that Rachel and Matt were meticulous about were the details. They did everything themselves, I am sure with the help of a few friends and family. Their wedding was in Rachel’s Dad’s backyard just outside of Guelph. There are few backdrops that I have seen that can rival what Rick was able to showcase at his property. The cathedral in the pines as I liked to call it is one of the nicest places I have every photographed a ceremony.
Rachel and Matt did a reveal before the wedding with only her two sisters and his one brother being present. They stood back behind the trees until Matt and Rachel had a few moments to themselves to take it all in. It was incredibly romantic and unbelievably personal. From that point, we did the family and wedding party pictures and a champagne toast inside and then it was onto the ceremony at the Cathedral in the Pines. The day had an incredibly relaxed flow with everyone taking in all of the beautiful scenery, with Matt and Rachel of course making the best scene of all, a wonderful wedding day!
One of the best details at the wedding was their family tree. Rachel and Matt had pictures from their engagement session, their childhood and their lives together hanging from the tree, not to mention family pictures and pictures of their loved ones who had passed on. It was incredibly touching.
Congratulations Rachel and Matt and thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity to photograph your wedding. You are a wonderful couple and I have loved working with you. I can’t wait to go and grab a coffee and catch up!
